Are you registered to vote?




This fall's National Election will be held on November 6th.  Will you be able to participate?  There is still time to register to vote so that you can be a part of the upcoming Presidential election.  The deadline to register to vote in Illinois is Oct. 9, 2012.

To register to vote, you must be:
  • A U.S. citizen
  • 18 years old by Election Day
  • A resident of your precinct at least 30 days before the election
Where can I register to vote?
  • Register at COLUMBIA COLLEGE CHICAGO on Monday Sept. 17th between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm at either the 1st floor of the Library (624 S. Michigan) or the 1st floor of the 623 S. Wabash building 
  • Register in person at the County Clerk's office (6 different locations including Downtown Chicago at the Daley Center, Skokie, Rolling Meadows, Maywood, Markham and Bridgeview)
  • A village, city or township clerk
  • Register with a Deputy Registrar any place in the State
  • MAIL-IN VOTER APPLICATION:  the form and instructions can be found at www.cookcountyclerk.com/elections and clicking on "Voter Registration."  (This is the method most out-of-town college students will need to use).

Identification needed when registering to vote in person
You must display two pieces of identification when registering in person.  Neither needs to be a photo ID, but one must include your current address.  Acceptable forms of ID include:  Illinois Driver's license or state ID, employee or student ID, credit card, social security card, birth certificate, utility bill in the applicant's name, mail postmarked to the applicant, valid U.S. passport, lease or rental contract


Where do I vote?
Your voter registration card contains your township and precinct number.
